 Exquisitely designed and hand carved, this Ming Dynasty Carving Table, or coffer, is over
450 years old and was crafted from several wood types including elm, locust, and poplar.
The high relief carving on the drawers and the ornate carving of the moldings and skirts
are traditional to the Ming Dynasty. Later into the Ming Dynasty and into the Qing Dynasty,
these tables became less dramatic and ornate.
