

This rare exampleof Ming Dynasty craftmanship is over 450 years old. Traditionally used to keep "prying eyes and sticky
fingers" from important and private family valuables, these cabinets later were used in simple fashions
for storing linens, books and occasionally as kitchen cabinets. While many Ming Dynasty pieces utilized
deep carvings and ornate mouldings, this piece is far rarer due to its simplicity of design. The soft
pine wood is from the Xian region of China where lush forests of pine trees once thrived. (Click on the
