 This beautiful Ming night stand is over 450 years old. It was originally used as a "Kong" table, a small table placed upon the Kong - the raised central living area of the traditional Chinese house. Later, they were popular as night tables. This particular table is comprised of three types of wood, while most Ming dynasty pieces were constructed of just one type of wood.
